Hallo
I'm a new Telemac2D user. I have problem with compute my simulation in Fudaa - option is unavailable.
I created the mesh with boundary conditions as liquid debit impose on the inflows with rate and as liquide hauteur impose on the outflow in meter above the sea level. I've the initial condition. I got conlim, slm and pre.fzip files. Is it all I need to stable condition simulation with given flow on the inflows and water surface level?
I thing I missed something.
Please help.
Thank You.

Hello

I think that your message is not clear enough, at least for me :)
I can't understand if you are able to run Telemac-2D or not yet. You said that you have already prepared the mesh, the boundary condition file and liquid boundary files. If it is the case, you have almost all what you need to run Telemac, you need only a case file. The easiest way to proceed is to use (and adapt) the case file of a typical validation case, such as Malpasset for instance.
Just a final remark, it is not recommended to use a prescribed water depth at the outlet (hauteur imposée), but instead use a prescribed elevation i.e. free surface (cote imposée).

I hope that this is helpful.
My best regards.

Thank You very much for your help. I've got a two more question connected with it:
1. Is the cote imposée a boundary condition option? Because I can't find option like this one.
2. I suppose that to adapt and use case file I need *.f and *.cli files. Could You explain how I can get this type of files.

I hope answer to my question is not tedious and tiring.
I add my project I hope it make the situation more clear.

Thank You.
My best regards.
Monika

Hi Monika

Yes "COTE IMPOSEE" or "PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS" is a type of boundary condition and the associate KEYWORD allow you to give value.

Adapting a case file allow you to start with some usual KEYWORDS to configure your own case but it's not mandatory. You could start from 0 for example if you use FUDAA-PREPRO, you could select your geometry file and the click on Create a Telemac Project...
In some exemple, *.cli are conlim files (they describe the type of conditions on each boundary node in a particular form but not the value!
*.f are a fortran file which contain a copy of one ore more telemac subroutines in which users could adapt the source code to adapt the program. This is not mandatory for the first use of telemac.

Hope this helps

Thank You. Your advices really helped me. Now I'm stuck trying run my simulation. I add screenshot of error. If You can give me any advice I'd be indebted.

My best regards.

Hello Monika,

It seems that you have some mistakes in your steering file. You can send it. But in addition, just to check, can you try to open it with the Editor of FUDAA-PREPRO in the supervisor (icon E, between Meshview and Post icons)? If you have any errors, it is a good means to check your steering file. Otherwise, you can read TELEMAC-2D user manual with the rules for the steering file (subsection 3.2).

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan

Hi Monika

What is the steering file you plan to use?
projekt022 or project02.cas
in the first one, you doesn't give any name for the result file...

Hope this helps

Hallo Monika,

I suppose you are trying to use Projekt022.cas
As told in the user manual, each line is limited to 72 characters. Can you try to write VALIDATION = OUI at the following line?
Moreover, rather than using only a single line for
FICHIER DES CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES = Projekt022-projekt021-Projekt02.conlim
can you try
FICHIER DES CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES =
Projekt022-projekt021-Projekt02.conlim
in 2 lines?

I have noticed a strange thing that your FICHIER DES RESULTATS and FICHIER DE REFERENCE have the same name. I am not certain that it is wished.

I do not have any compiler now, so I cannot try for you.

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan

Hallo Monika,

If you still use Projekt022.cas steering file, I have a few comments to add, if I may:
My first two remarks are right, in particular using carriage return before VALIDATION = OUI enables to avoid your error message.

Nevertheless, you have the same file used for three keywords for files (FICHIER DE GEOMETRIE, FICHIER DES RESULTATS and FICHIER DE REFERENCE) which should be different!
Moreover, in your file Projekt022-projekt021-Projekt01.slf you use a strange variable 'dobczyce07'. I suppose you want that variable to be the bathymetry, would not you?
How did you generate your mesh? Which mesh generator do you use?

At last, if you are not familiar with French, you can choose English for your steering files and for TELEMAC.

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan
