Hi Jean-Philippe,

On a linux computer + perl + gfortran, the command "telemac2d -s t2d_bumpflu_wo_valida.cas" is OK.
Please tell me if it is also OK for you or not.

Regards,

Chi-Tuan

Hi Chi-Tuan,

I am sorry for my late reply. I was busy with another work in the last days. I download the 011_bumpflu case as you told me and run the cas file with the command:
"telemac2d -s t2d_bumpflu_wo_valida.cas"

But again it did not work for me! What is strange is that it says that it cannot find the "out2626_gfortran_linux.exe" file while it is present in the tmp directory.

I will try to further explore now that I am back in the modelling work but I think I may changed to python as you suggested if I cannot find a way to get this log file.

Kind regards,

Jean-Philippe

Hi Jean-Philippe,

I do not have more hints to solve your problem as I did not succeed in reproducing your error. My last ideas are:
- a possible problem of installation. Have you tried other options when running telemac, like -t? I think that option -cl should also work. Have you changed something special when installing telemac, except the PATH and SYSTELCFG environment variables, systel.ini file (then generating cfgmak.mak)?
- the version of perl should be OK, but you can try to download a more recent one. I am not sure that this last idea would change anything.

Hi Chi-Tuan,

I have just tried with the other options -cl and -t and in both cases it works. Regarding the installation, I did as specified in the installation manual: setup of the 2 environmental variables SYSTELCFG and PATH (I set them up in the bashrc file to add them permanently), add the project path, hostype, perl path and perl library in the systel.ini file and run cfgmak.mak afterwards. Regarding that cfgmak.mak command, as far as I understand I must run that command only when I modify the systel.ini file right?

I'll come back to you if I got further ideas or hints.

Regards,

Jean-Philippe

Hi again,

You are right.
Did you download the source codes from SVN? What about the systel.ini file, did you start from the systel-all.ini provided on SVN in config directory?

I think that these are my last questions.

Hi Chi-Tuan,

Yes, I downloaded the source codes from SVN. Regarding the systel.ini file, what I did is that I made a copy of systel-all.ini that I renamed systel.ini in which I made the modifications I mentioned in the previous post. I think the installation is ok since I am able to run cases, but it's only when I want to get the log file with the option -s that it does not work.

If I understand, if I want to install telemac under python, the only differences with perl lie in the systel.ini (config file) which has a different structures when using python, isn't it ?

Kind regards,

Jean-Philippe

Hi Jean Philippe

To use the python you need to fill the systel.cfg file in the config folder.

You can find a complete description of the installation and running of telemac with on this link:
www.opentelemac.org/index.php/documentat...rocedure-with-python

Hope this helps,
Yoann

Hi,

I finally switched to python as compiler for running TELEMAC system and I can now use the -s option to create the log file.

Kind regards,

Jean-Philippe
