Hello Everyone,

I am trying to release 1 drogue in a simple test case of a uniform channel. I have added the keywords in the steering file, and modified the FLOT subroutine (copied it and changed its name to princi.f).

When I try to run the simulation, the compiler complains at the point where the drogue release times are specified. Can someone look at my input files, and shed some light on where I went astray?

I am using gfortran compiler on Debian squeeze.

Thank you in advance,

Pat Prodanovic

Hello,

Well it seems that you just start the lines in column 6 instead of 7, add an extra space before your two lines...

Thank you for the suggestion, that made the model run without problem.

But, for some reason I can not see the drogues results. The following keywords were specified in the steering file:

NUMBER OF DROGUES =1
BINARY RESULTS FILE ='drogues.res'
PRINTOUT PERIOD FOR DROGUES =900

Even though the simulation runs, and it seems to have taken drogues into account, the 'drogues.res' file is not printed. Is there any other keyword(s) I am missing?

further to my earlier post ...

I just tried to run the validation file 024_flotteurs, with the same result. The binary result file does not get printed. Anyone have any thoughts?

Hello,

This is quite strange, I ran it recently. The problem is that this file is a binary serafin format (same as geometry file) and the trajectories of particles are done with a mesh with flat triangular elements, which are refused by most post-processors, but Rubens.
In the next version, I give a Tecplot file format, and it will work in parallel.
You can also look at the post-processors like Blue Kenue that can do trajectories with velocities in a results file.

Hello,

The problem I seem to be having is that I can not get the binary results file to be written at the end of the simulation. For some reason, my compiled version (v6p2r1) does not write the binary results file.

I tried running the same examples in v6p1, and the binary results file is indeed produced (and I can view the results without problem).

Hello,

OK, so one thing to check is looking into the temporary directory if a file T2DRBI is generated (if it is destroyed before you can look, you can try to stop the job with a Control C when it reaches the end). If the file T2DRBI is correct, then it is that the scripts (Perl or Python ?) "just" do not copy it back to your file drogues.res. I checked with Perl so far.

Hello,

I'am using BLue Kenue. Is it possible to do trajectories with blue kenue?

Hello,

As far as I know, it's not possible to do it with BlueKenue.
