open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi,

I want to make a tidal simulation in Scotland.
I work with the NEA Atlas. I create the harmonics constants file with the COMODO tools. I have one liquid boundary between the points 148 and 362. Also, i have 215 points on my boundary.

When i run my simulation, I have this printout for each iteration:

I try to modify my harmonics constants file but apparently it is not the explication of these NaN.

I think that you have big troubles with you mesh, try to view it with fudaa or BK and you will see that there is weird and unlogical bathymetry.

You probably still have a problem in your data or initial conditions. Anyway you should try to start in scalar mode to sort problems out. The use of GMRES for solver is possible but not necessary if you use :

TREATMENT OF THE LINEAR SYSTEM : 2

in which case (wave equation option) the conjugate gradient (SOLVER = 1) is enough.

My domain is composed by 1 liquid boundary and 43 solid boundaries (islands).
I would like to know if i must indicate the initial and boundary conditions for each solid boundary?

Must i use the keyword 'TIDAL FLATS = OUI' for the islands?

In the charac.f subroutine, we call SCARACT. I search SCARACT but i don't find it.
Whats is SCARACT? a subroutine?

No, islands in the mesh are not tidal flats, they are supposed to have boundaries like vertical walls. Use TIDAL FLATS= OUI only if you have no water in some zones. There is no specific boundary condition to give on solid boundaries.

SCARACT is in the module of characteristics called streamline.f, in bief library (but your problem is not there...).
