Hello,

There is no precise answer and it is always case dependent.

You have however a keyword :

STOP IF A STEADY STATE IS REACHED (ARRET SI UN ETAT PERMANENT EST ATTEINT)

associated to :

STOP CRITERIA (CRITERES D'ARRET)

by default set to 1.E-4,1.E-4,1.E-4 for the absolute value of differences in two time steps on

1) velocity
2) depth
3) tracers

With von Karman eddies it will never stop, and with long period oscillations in a basin it may stop too early but well, the only thing we can check is the difference berween two time steps.
