Hello,

The best is that you put your files in a post so that we can have a look at them. Any user or moderator may then answer, even if I am on holidays, and the answer will benefit to all.

Regards,

Jean-Michel

I would Jean, but they are not so small(5MB). I think its better by mail.

Hello,

We need only the data files : parameter file, geometry file, boundary conditions files, and if you have any : the liquid boundary files and the user fortran file if you did one, and this should not be larger than 5 MB (unless it is a huge case, 100000 points gives 4 MB, but this is not the thing to start with). Put all of them in a zip file or a gz or tgz file. We do not need the results files.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel

Ok. You will see a rectangule and on the left size a line which represent the breach. As liquid boundary file I put the hydrograph together. As I said, all bed is dry. Have a nice weekned and thank you again. Another question, how can I insert a image geo file in matisse?

Hello,

Please find enclosed 4 files in a zip archive: conlim.txt, princi.f, LIQUIDBOUNDARIES.txt, PARAMETROS.txt. You can edit them directly without interface and run the case in a dos window with the command :

telemac2d PARAMETROS.txt

You will see at least water entering the domain. I had to change subroutine bord.f (in princi.f file) so that the discharge is taken in the LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE and the depth taken in the BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE. If your entrance is a supercritical section you should also give the elevations in the LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE (an extra column with SL(1)). So far I arbitrarily put a depth of 0.1 at the entrance, which is certainly not very good. It could be that your case would be better treated by adding the reservoir in the domain and gradually lowering the bottom topography at every time step, to model the formation of the breach, this would solve all questions on boundary conditions. I have not put an exit on the right, you can do that after.

Your case is very big. If you are not familiar with Telemac you should perhaps play first with the test cases, like the malpasset case (in this case the reservoir is included in the computation), and understand the effect of a few key words. If you are doing a consultancy study you should probably ask for an assistance contract. As a matter of fact we are rapidly heading to our user club now and I will not be able to dedicate a lot more time to your case.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet

Thank you, Jean Michel.

Could you send the liquid boundary again? Where should I put the princi.f?

Here is the liquid boundaries file (I have just added a small discharge at the beginning to see something happening before 30 time steps).

The princi.f file is to be put with the other data files like the GEOMETRY FILE that I have renamed here GEO, you can put again the original name (I was not sure that parenthesis in a name would work).

Regards,

Jean-Michel
