I model a weir in channel ,the problem is the flow cannot through the weir. my question is :1,in the formatted data file 1,the 'points side 1'and' points side 2',,,i think that is means the points at the two sides of weir,and did it need to note the upstream and downstream when input the file?
2,about the boundary ,,there a island ,two liquid boundaries and two solid boundaries, I find that the nodes of weir (the points at two sides of weir) are included in the solid boundaries ,did this impact the computed result?

Hello,

You can inspire from the example : weirs in telemac-2d folder of examples. You will see that the mesh is made of disconnected parts, and the data file indicates how the points are connected through the weir.

Hi,

I am trying to incororate a weir into my domain, and have been using the weirs example for help, however I get the following error when trying to run:

LECSNG : READ ERROR ON THE
WEIRS DATA FILE
FOR SINGULARITY NUMBER 1
ELEVATIONS ON THE WEIR CANNOT BE READ

I dont understand why this is as I have folowed the example. The only difference is my weir does not cut across the whole domain. I have included by geometry selafin file to show this (the weir is just to the west of Cherbourg). I have also attahed my weir data file.

I am not sure but on my computer I see strange characters "Cc" between 11965 and the series of 38.

Ok thanks, I have changed the wording in the file and that seems to have got rid of the error, however now when I run the simulation it seems the weir boundaries just act as a blockage with no water flowing through. The only reason I can come up with is that it is not possible to position a weir with open water on either side of the weir, which is the only aspect that makes it different from the validation case. Any suggestions you have on this would be greatly appreciated, I have attached the run files below.
