Hi everybody,
when I'm using the finite volume method the prescribed values I entered are not be complied with.
Do the prescribed values not work with finite volumes or do I have to consider anything else?

Cheers
Sarah

Hello,

Yes this is a known problem and we are working on it. The finite volumes do not have exactly the same control section so far at liquid boundaries and it triggers a difference with finite elements.

With best regards,

Hi,

the actual boundary condition in the FVM works best if the boundary is a straight line. For such cases the error is often relatively small (< 1%). You should also use the newest version of Telemac.

It can take some time to reach a steady-state condition. Typically you can observe some kind of oscillations. Sometimes it is necessary to check that the outflow boundary does not influence the result. E.g. if you have a fixed depth at the outflow it can happen that water also flow into your domain.

Best regards,

Leo
