Hi
I am trying to modeling of solitary wave overtopping over breakwater.I have been using telemac2d to generate a wave state in the flume.
My problem is that when the wave break in my model, telemac2d indicates wave break resemble fluctuations of free surface.
Have you got an idea?
I have attached my files. any help woud be greatly appreciatted.

Hello,

What you get is quite normal, there is no breaking in Telemac-2D and 3D and the waves tend to a hydraulic jump which triggers oscillations. In your case you deal with non linear waves and non hydrostatic 3D would be better (see test case on non linear waves in Telemac-3D examples).

hi
Thank you for your response to my question.
I prepare my problem with use of finite volume method. there are no triggers Oscillations in my case now, but the wave is damping when it propagate along The X direction.
Why do this problem occur?

Hello

How can you say that the solution is damped. have you some measurements or a reference solution ?
The damping of the solution could be caused by several parameters. You have to look at the friction on the bed, the amount of diffusion you introduced, the order of the numerical scheme, the coarseness of the mesh etc...
Try, first, to explore the influence of theses parameters; you will undoubtedly immprove your solution.

with my best regards

Riadh
