hi all,
I wander how to distinguish the TEXP and TSCEXP,which means EXPLICIT SOURCE TERMS FOR TRACERS and TERMS DUE TO SOURCES FOR TRACERS respectively. Is the source term equal to source?

I don't understand the source terms,source,is there any book or mannual I can refer to?

Thx~

Hello,

Yes there is a confusion between source or sink terms in the tracer equation, which can be implicit or explicit, positive for source terms and negative for sink terms. They represent a variation in time of the tracer that can be due to a radioactive decay, a chemical reaction, solar radiation in the case of temperature, etc.

Then the punctual sources represent for example a pipe that brings water at a given point in the mesh, with a discharge and possibly tracers in the water.

Maybe we should find other words to avoid this confusion.

Regards,

JMH

Hello,this is my comprehension:
so,there is two kind of tracer? One is simple tracer,the source release it without water,and the tracer is conservative( EXPLICIT SOURCE TERMS FOR TRACERS) or variation in time(IMPLICIT SOURCE TERMS FOR TRACERS).we only need to set the TEXP or TIMP without discharge or concentration;

while another kind is that for example a pipe that brings water at a given point in the mesh, with tracers in the water,and we need to give a a discharge DSCE and tracer concentration TSCE.At the same time,since there are water into our domain,we need to consider the source in the continuity equation and momentum equations

Did I understand right?

Thx~

Hello JMH,

I think my question is relevant to be asked under this topic, about the source of tracer, Tsce in the 2D non-conservative tracer equation from your book pg. 61, (dT/dt)+(u.grad(T))-(1/h.div(h.vt.grad(T)))=(Tsce-T)Sce/h (2.253).

I try to find the variable for the source of tracer, Tsce in the telemac2d which direct me to the difsou.f routine. In difsou.f, which one is the exact variable for the Tsce term in the above equation that can result non-zero of RHS value?

Was the above equation only processed in the difsou.f routine?
