Hi everyone,

I'm facing a problem on a fluvial case.
I imposed a discharge on the upstream boundary and set a water level in the initial condition but the simulation stops with this error (see ErrorSimul.jpg).
I though it was a problem of dry domain so i put a state discharge curve at the entrance and change the boundary condition file with 555 instead of 455 (to have a prescribed discharge and elevation).
However, i got the same error (see ErrorSimul2.jpg)... Maybe i did it wrong!

An idea to solve this error ?

Thank you.

Hi

There is a lot of post on this particular problem on the forum. Please take a moment to read them before posting the same problem.
As indicate, there is no water on your upstream boundary condition (even with a boundary with a stage discharge curve).
If you manage your initial condition with water on the upstream boundary, your simulation will start

Hi,

I read a lot of these posts yet, even if i didn't get through all of them i admit it.
However, if i posted this problem it is mainly because i tried many solutions (modifing the CONDIN routine,...) without succeded... But i will continue my investigation!

Thank you for your answer.

Start with a water level impose upstream for a few time steps and then make a hot start with the discharge from 0 to the final value

Hi Coulet!

Reading other posts about my problems, i think i have a supercritical flow on my upstream boundary.
Once i identified my problem, i tried your solution using a prescribed elevation in the upstream boundary for a few time steps (Modifing the code with 544 in the .cli file). So, the computation begin and end without any trouble.
Then, i used the coldstart for my simulation using a liquid boundary file and all works pretty well!

I want to thank you for this solution!

Best regards
