Bonjour,
Pour augmenter la diffusion dans mon modèle, est ce que l utilisation du modèle d elder est possible? Y a t il moyen d'augmenter la diffusion en jouant sur les paramètres : COEFFICIENTS ADIMENSIONNELS DE DISPERSION ?

Hello,

Yes, these coefficients can be changed, only the longitudinal coefficient must be greater because it acccounts for dispersion, i.e. the fact that the velocity is not constant on the vertical.

Yes but I would advise also to keep the same ratio between longitudinal and transversal diffusion.

Hello,

Depending on the cases, the diffusion coefficient is in the range 1.D-6 to 500 m2/s (this latter value said to have been measured in Mississipi...). You can look at the diffusion coefficient that your choice gives (ask D in the variables for graphic printout).

The difficulty with Elder and depth-averaged flows is that the diffusion also takes into account the dispersion, which is an artificial diffusion due to depth-averaging, taking into account the fact that a column of water has a higher velocity at the free surface and a lower one near the bottom.
