Hi

Please, I’d like to calculate bed load sediment by coupling telemac sisyphe but I’d like in the beginning do some changing in the subroutine (Bedload-formula)
Here we have the calculation of TETAP:
TETAP= TOB *MU / C1 with C1 = XMVE *DENS * GRAV* DM
Can make a changing to this subroutine, for example, I change TOB by TOB1, which a variable that I added and use this subroutine in the calculation of the bed load flux?
If a choose ICF=1 to calculate the bedload , is the calculation based on the new formula??
Thank you in advance

Hi,

The proper/recommended way to program your own formula would be to set ICF=0 and program it in the subroutine qsform.f. You can copy the Meyer-Peter-Muller formulation in qsform.f and do any modification you like without 'harming' the built-in version.

Hi

thank you so much Costas,
I will try with this solution, but in this case i will introduce all sediment transport formulas, and make the change in these formulas, in my case I am not limited by a specific diameter to use only one formula, but i will applicat this for différent case of diameter, that's why I propose to change only TETAP, and then all the formulas are changed, and my question is that possible or no if no i will use qsform.f

best regards

Hello,

Of course you can modify bedload_formula.f as you like and add it to your fortran file in order to take effect.

Out of curiosity, I have not understood why you need to do this. There are other ways to change the median grain size (DM) if that is what you want.

HI Costas

thank you for your reply
I do a modeling of flow and sediment transport in presence of submerged vegetation. In this case the flow domain was divided into two layers a resistance layer (vegetation layer) and a surface layer (above vegetation). So we have bed load in the vegetation layer and suspended transport in the surface layer. If I’d do a precise calculation of the bed load transport and the suspended in the surface layer I need to modify the TOB ( TOB 1 and TOB2), I couldn't use the total bed shear stress in this case that’s why I ‘d like to use the new formula to calculate each transport.

best regards
