Hello all,

According both the telemac2D manual and the paper regarding the algae transport module, the "STOCHASTIC DIFFUSION MODEL" option can take the values 0 or 1. However, FUDAA gives the possibility to choose between 0,1 and 2, without any comment to describe each option. In addition, lines 114,115 in charac.f are:
!| STOCHA |-->| STOCHASTIC DIFFUSION MODEL
!| | | 0: NO DIFFUSION 1: oil spill 2: algae

Which is the correct/proper option for algae transport modeling?

Best Regards,
Costas

Hello Costas,

This is an error in FUDAA, and in the charac.f comments.

"STOCHASTIC DIFFUSION MODEL" can only take option 0 or 1, which serves to define if brownian motion is taken into account or not.

To model algae, you need to use the following keywords:
  • NUMBER OF DROGUES (= number chosen by the user)
  • PRINTOUT PERIOD FOR DROGUES (= number chosen by the user)
  • DROGUES FILE (= name chosen by the user)
  • ALGAE TRANSPORT MODEL (= 1 to define algae transport)
  • ALGAE TYPE (= option chosen by the user)
  • DIAMETER OF ALGAE (= value set by the user)
  • DENSITY OF ALGAE (= value set by the user)
  • THICKNESS OF ALGAE (= value set by the user)

Thank-you for spotting the errors, I will see how to correct them.

Antoine
