Problem with Inlet 8 years 11 months ago #19098

Dear community,

I was running a Telemac 2d simulation with 1 inlet and one outlet which was fine. After adding a new inlet I just receive the following error message:
Mise a jour du fichier '/data/DATA/telemac/v7p0r1/v7p0r1/configs/cfgmak.mak' terminee.

I don't know if it is about my mesh or if it is something else. I hope someone can help me in solving this problem.

I attached my example

Hello,

Your new inlet has probably changed the numbering of your liquid boundaries, which changes the data in your stage-discharge curves and the keywords PRESCRIBED FLOWRATES, PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS.

With best regards,

Problem with Inlet 8 years 11 months ago #19114

Dear Jean-Michel Hervouet,

I systematically tried to locate where the error comes from. So this were my steps:

- I started from my running system where I want to add a new inlet
- I created a hole in the mesh using the "delete elements in polygon tool" in blue kenue
- Further I tried to run a simulation with this new mesh but without a further boundary condition (still just 1 inlet and 1 outlet)
- running in scalar mode I get the following output:
POINT 51425 IS ON A BOUNDARY
BUT NOT IN THE LIST OF BOUNDARY POINTS
OR THE NUMBER OF LINES IN THE BOUNDARY
CONDITIONS FILE IS GREATER THAN: 855
NUMBER TAKEN IN THE GEOMETRY FILE

Looking in my boundary conditions file point 51425 is in the list (last point) but it is true that the number of lines in the file is more than 855.

I checked wether the conlim file is based on the same mesh as the geometry file, and they are equal. I'm wondering where telemac gets the information of the conlim file length? Do I have to do something like a renumbering after changing my mesh in blue kenue?

Thank you
Engelbert Gleirscher

Hello,

This must be a problem in your use of Blue Kenue. The geometry file contains an array that says if a point is on a boundary, hence we can count them, then this number must be the number of lines in the boundary conditions file. In your case the point 51425 does not appear in the boundary conditions file. This global number is the last but one column in the file, so you can check if the sequence 51425 is in the file.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet

Hi
In fact, if you open a selafin file in blue kenue, delete some elements and save the file, there is no update of the ipobo array.
Blue Kenue create this array only when you drag and drop a mesh file in a new selafin file.

Hope this helps to clarify the reason of this error

Christophe

Akkkk!!!

I was told that the IPOBO array is not used so Blue Kenue doesn't update it after a mesh edit. :-(

Also, you must create a new boundary conditions file after ANY edit to the mesh.

So bottom line is:
1. create a new Selafin object each time you edit the mesh
2. then create a new boundary conditions object.

Cheers... Martin

Dear all,

thank you helping to solve my problem. After setting up a new mesh without using the option "copy node values from source", and with creating a new conlim file from this mesh everything is fine.

Thank you all again
