Hi everyone,
I wish to know whether TELEMAC-2D would be appropriate for my research goals:
I intend to model the area of land covered by water (flooded) if adjacent irrigation channels are blocked. I assume that the irrigation channels will function in the same way as river channels, which are usually used with this software, but I would appreciate any advice before I spend time trying to learn to use TELEMAC-2D.
I have 3 main points that may cause issue (although hopefully not):
1) the irrigation channels are less than 1 meter wide, unlike the river channels usually used with this software.
2) the irrigation channels begin from outside the study area and end within the study area. Their "down stream" ends open out promoting unconstrained water flow.
3) I wish to model water flow and flooding from multiple irrigation channels at once, within the same study area.
4) the point cloud modelling the landscape surface is at around 50cm resolution over an area c. 200 x 400m (derived from a terrestrial laser scanner).
Will these points inhibit me using TELEMAC-2D??
Thank you very much for your time,
Isaac
