hello

I am facing a problem after running Telemac 2d. All the output (say water depth, free surface, velocity UV) are coming just in the plane of Reference line whereas it should be on the total bathymetry surface.

For better understanding the screenshots are attached here.
plz. provide suggestions.

Hello,

I am not sure I understand but I will try to answer nonetheless.

Indeed, this is because Blue Kenue does not "know" what bathymetry is and that depth is on top and the the UV and depth average.

If it is for a display purpose, you may be able to use the "shift" option in the property of the object, but this may not help with UV, as it is hard to give a Z value to a UV vector.

Hope this helps,
Sébastien.

Actually it is not a display problem. All the output properties are calculated on the basis of reference line, where as it should be on the basis of bathymetric data.

eX: BATHYMETRIC DATA RANGES FROM 145M TO 190M

Where as output value (water depth)comes in the range of 11m to 203m.

Hi,

Blue Kenue presents a single (right hand rule, +Z up) coordinate system in which graphics are drawn. The red "reference line" you mark on your graphic is simply the "x axis" drawn going through the Point of Interest" in the 3D view. (please see page 44 in the manual for explanation)

Blue Kenue doesn't attach any special meaning to variables.
If you wish to see the sea floor and the surface of the water drawn in proper relation to each other, you must view the BOTTOM and FREE SURFACE variables. They exist within the same reference system.
The DEPTH variable is (generally) a positive value >=0.
If you haven't saved the FREE SURFACE variable in your simulation you can use the calculator to generate it using the equation BOTTOM + DEPTH.
Make sure you set the "Scale" factor to the same value on the BOTTOM and FREE SURFACE "Display" property page.

The VELOCITY UV object is drawn (by default) at Z=0 in the 3D view.
You can over-ride this by changing the "Z shift" factor on the "Display" property page. As Sebastien wrote, since this is a 2D model there is no Z value associated with the location of the velocity vector and all nodes are drawn at the same level.

Hope this helps...
Martin
