Hello,

So I have a conceptual question. I used Van Rijn's bedload equation and compared it with Wu's Equation for bedload transport rate (all other factors are constant). However, the sediment volume from evolution is the same for both the cases but the loss of volume in the reservoir is lesser in case of Wu's equation. Can someone tell me the reason?

Thank you so much

Maheen

Hi
Could you illustrate what you're writing to help us to understand?

I modeled a reservoir and calibrated the bedload transport formula (used Wu and Van Rijn's equations separately) to see the difference in sediment deposit in the reservoir. when I calculated the sediment volume it was pretty much the same for both these equations but the loss of volume in the reservoir were different.

OK but could you give us some visible results?
Evolution map, results of computed volume ...

Could it comes from the fact that evolution could be positive and negative depending of the location?
What are the volume at the boundaries?

Maybe you could join the result files (only initial and final time step)

There is just one negative evolution in case of the year 2005, but what does a negative evolution imply?

and there is maximum evolution at the inlet boundary. As a matter of fact there is only deposition at the inlet and no where else in the reservoir. I drew an artificial channel there which extrapolated the boundary elevation.
