Hi everyone,

I am working on a suspended-load considering bed-load, but, with a non erodable bottom.

The problem, basically, seems to be with the suspended load transport, bluekenue says there are bad values found in QS. Logically, i looked at other models i have and this show up a correct CFL number for suspension (less than 1). But, I do not know why, if i already ran the same model with other mesh, i am having this problem, and with the other mesh i did not. Could be the mesh? what else could be if not?

PS: Hydrodynamic works fine.

Please find attached the steering files, mesh, bluekenue error and CFL number showed up.

Thanks in advance for any comments and suggestions.

Cheers,

José

Hi José!

I am not a Sisyphe expert at all but I am also interested in running T2D+Sisyphe with finite volumes.

I think you should first try to add FINITE VOLUMES = YES in the sisyphe steering file. The keyword TYPE OF ADVECTION =14 is useless in FV I think (only with FE).

Please report back here as I will possibly start something similar soon.

Best regards
PL

Hi PL,

First at all, thanks for your suggestions.

About adding FINITE VOLUME=YES in sisyphe steering file, it is not necessary when internal coupling is used.

About TYPE OF ADVECTION=14, indeed, it looks useless, but, could you give me any explanation about?

Cheers,

José

Hi José,

Thanks for the information with FINITE VOLUMES. Regarding TYPE OF ADVECTION, this keyword is used for selecting the advection schemes of the FE kernel (see T2D's user manual). It is therefore not taken into account in FV.

All the best,
PL

Hi everyone!

I found the problem.

At the beginning, I thought the problem was in the mesh, however, I figured out the problem was in the treatment of the linear system chosen, I have been using the option 2 (wave equation). I do not really know why when I use option 2 the CFL number for suspension gives error, if there is somebody with an explanation would be excellent. Thus, when I use the default value (1) I get good values and the error disappear.

That is all I wanted to let you know people!

Cheers

José
