Dear all,

I am trying to simulate the coupled T2D-Sisyphe for analyzing the bed evolution of a real river.
The river sediment size is D50=10mm

I tried with two different bed load formula, 1- MPM and other 2- Einstein-Brown.

Also, I tried to increase the parameter morphological factor to 10.

Similarly, I tried with Shield's Parameter=0.047 as well as without assigning Shield's Parameter.
Despite of all the modifications, the bed evolution didn't occur except for one or two places along the channel.

I checked River-Arc test case from examples. Except for the NUMBER OF BED LOAD MODEL LAYERS = 2, the parameters are almost similar in Sisyphe steering file.

Can anyone suggest, what parameters should I consider for achieving realistic bed evolution?

Thank you.

Regards,
Saroj

Hi Saroj,

With your settings, you will get sediment transport, if the velocities are high enough (as I don't have your liquid boundary file or your bathymetry file, I can't tell exactly, but I got your 1 cm sediment moving when the velocity is above 1.8m/s

Dear Michiel,

Thank you for your reply.

I think the problem may be due to the river bathymetry. If you see the river profile as attached in this message, in the areas marked with a red circle, the velocity is higher and the bed evolution occurred there, however in other areas the bottom is relatively flat. As a result, no evolution occurred there.
I need to re-check the bathymetry data once.

In case of sediment of bigger size like this one, what parameters should be mainly considered as compared to other smaller sediment?

In case you want to have a look, the liquid boundary file is attached.

And due to size limitation, the dropbox link for the bottom topography file is below,

Thank you.
