Hi everyone,

I have a challenge where my sisyphe model simulation results only display single data, not in time simulation. For the hydrodynamic model, there is no problem. Can I get a second opinion to help me check my sisyphe steering file? Here with attach sisyphe and telemac2d steering file.

Many thanks for your attention, help, suggestion and recommendation for improving my study. May your day be full of blessings and happiness.

Hi Shahirah,

You have told to compute the sediments only once every 864000 time steps
COUPLING PERIOD FOR SISYPHE = 864000
Change that line to
COUPLING PERIOD FOR SISYPHE = 1
That should sort it.

Hi,

I am trying to simulate both, bedload and suspended load. Can I run this both using one steering file? If so, will there be two boundary condition (.cli) files, one for bedload and one for suspended load?

My suspended load boundary grain size is 0.1mm, where should I put this inflow suspended grain size number as a boundary condition? Please let me know.

Thanks.

Hello ssiddi7,

you just need one GAIA.cas file in which you insert your keywords for bedload (bedload considers bedload and suspension transport mode). See furhter information:

For non-cohesive sediments, the bedload sediment transport can be set with the keyword BEDLOAD FOR ALL SANDS = YES(logical type variable, set to = NOby default). This keyword explicitly stated that all non-cohesive sediments considered in the computation will be
transported by the bedload sediment transport mechanism.

For the bed-water interface are also some Keywords available:
Available equilibrium near-bed concentration formulas can be computed by the Keyword SUSPENSION TRANSPORT FORMULA FOR ALL
SANDS.
For the different options and formulas available have a look in the GAIA_user-guide.

Hope this helps a litte bit.
Mati

Hi Mati,
Thanks. I am using Sysphie, not Gaia. These keywords you mentioned will go Gaia. Do you know what's are the keywords I should use in Sysphie and if I run one sediment cas for suspension and bedload together?

just little differences to SISYPHE:
here you can use BED LOAD = YES and the keyword BED-LOAD TRANSPORT FORMULA with different options/formulas (SISYPHE user chapter 2.3)

For example, the keyword BED-LOAD TRANSPORT FORMULA = 7 sets the van Rijn for-
mula. Please note that bedload transport formulas 3 and 30 account for the total sediment
transport.

But also here, you can use just one .cli file .
Bedload and suspended load boundary conditions (i.e. initial inflow) can be set inside the same .cli file

Hi Mati,

Thanks for your reply. I want to put the boundary condition for suspended sediment sizr is 0.1mm. Fr this, should I put this 0.1mm diameter in CAS as SEDIMENT DIAMETERS =0.0001? Or I need to define this diameter size in Cli. file? I have attached my Cli and sediment cas here. Please have a look and let me know if my Cli file is okay and the cas file also has all the variables active for bedload and suspended load.

Grain sizes are defined in the cas file.

But when I am trying to simulate bedload and suspended load at the same time using the same cas, then my bedload grain size is three classes- 0.0004, 0.0005 and 0.0006 meter and suspended sediment size is 0.0001 meter. How can i put different sizes for different load? Or should I run separately?
