Dear all,
Is there a way to force tomawac to consider some closed boundaries to be reflective,or to specify certain structures (such as groynes etc)?
Is there a way to achieve this through a subroutine or a different way?

Regards,
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

TOMAWAC cannot model reflective boundaries. If reflection is important, then ARTEMIS is the way to go.

You can specify groynes in your mesh but note that TOMAWAC does not (practically) take diffraction into account. Again ARTEMIS will do.

I want to run my model in parallel between tomawac-telemac2d-sisyphe.I have noticed for the version 7.2 in telemac you can specify reflective boundaries and vertical structures(I may be mistaken for that part). If that is the case the boundary will be considered reflective for the telemac2d part of the simulation but not for tomawac?
Also is there a way to couple and run in parallel artemis-telemac2d and sisyphe if that is the only way to consider reflection in the wave simulation?

Thank you very much,
Andreas

I am pretty sure Telemac2D treats reflective boundaries and vertical structures in other context than wind-wave propagation. As long as wind-waves are concerned, TOM-T2D-SIS coupling cannot take reflection into account.

You could chain ARTEMIS with a coupled T2D-SIS model but this recipe is not readily available in the TELEMAC system and you would have to spend considerable effort into cooking it up yourself.

If you can get away with neglecting reflection phenomena, then I would recommend sticking with TOMAWAC, else it gets complicated.
