Hi

I am running a simple rectangular mesh in Tomawac to look into the results and accuracy in function of the timestep. I am encountering a weird phenomena where after initial breaking a secondary increase in wave height occurs. I believe this is not correct since I simulated in SWAN as well and the results are different.

Any ideas why this is? The steeringfile, 3D view of the grid and the results can be found in attachment. On the results graph you can also see the bottom bathymetry.

The things I already checked and are not the solution are:
- The timestep: 0.1 seconds gives the same results
- The spread: spread has no influence on the results
- The mesh: A channel mesh, a random T3 mesh and a very fine mesh were tested.
- The waveheight: the secondary bump in waveheight occurs only if the waves are breaking over the sandbank, so the boundary wave height is larger than 1 m.

Any ideas?

hello

I do not see any obvious reason in your steering file. Can you send all your files (geometry and boundary condition) if i can see where it comes from by running the case ?

best regards

T.
