Hi everyone

I am currently running a simple model where I adjusted the spread via the use of "BOUNDARY DIRECTIONAL SPREAD 1". When my "BOUNDARY SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT" equals 1 and I run the simulation I get a boundary wave height which is a lot higher than 1 depending on which spread I use.

Any explanations for this phenomenon?
The steering, bottom and boundary file are found in attachment.

Kind regards

Hi,

Directional spreading is also related to the number of directions you're using to discretize your spectrum. The default value is 12 directional bins of 360/12=30°, which must probably be insufficient to represent the very narrow directional spreading you ask for (less than 1 degree you mention in your steering file). Try to increase the number of directions and keep in mind that the directional spreading you're prescribing is really very narrow.

Regards,
Laurent
