Dear all,

I need some advice and your opinion for my result in tomawac.

I run tomawac alone, my work was done but when i see the result i notice that the wave and the swell don't propagate. (i attached a picture wich shows the result).

Before i was run a telemac project for the modelisation of the tide and it's work, the result is perfect.

So what do you think ? the problem can be in my steering file? or in the mesh?

Hi Yasmina,

According to tomawac directional convention, you're propagating wave towards North West (315°), so out of your domain. Try instead 135° (towards South East).

Okay, so you mean that in TOMAWAC we must take the direction of propagation wich the wave is coming to and not the direction wich the wave come from.

Yes, as described in the user manual, tomawac uses the propagation direction, direction towards which the waves travel.
Also, as mentioned by Thierry, 30 minutes should not be enough to fully propagate your sea state condition.

My question might be stupid but since it seems to propagate a little bit, did you check you had enough time to propagate on the whole domain ?

Yes i was thinking about this and i turned it for one day and the result is exactly the same.

I will modify the direction wich Laurent told me to do.

My propagation seems correct when i changed the direction, i will turn the simulation for more time.
And now i will read more carfuly the manuel to don't make error like this.

Dear open telemac_mascaret community,

I am trying to set up a tomawac (V8P0) computation propagating simple boundary conditions inside the computation domain, it is the first step before coupling with a telemac2d computation on the same computation grid (same geometry file).

I adapted the "shoal" example to my computation domain, lowered the time step to 2 seconds (first guess) because the spatial resolution of my geometry file goes down to 1 meter.

After several attempts the model computation goes well but I don't get any signal in the result file (Hm0 stuck to 0 value everywhere at all time).

Could you please help me find a way out of this dead-end ?
