Hello,

I am working on wave model using stand alone TOMAWAC V7P3. The result of my model plotted against the data of the four available buoys and for all of them looks very high and kinda shifted. Here I am posting the result of one of them and I tried different wind generations and getting worse.

I would like to ask your opinion and suggestion as you may experience the same.

Best Regards,

Hello

I am not sure if it would be sufficient to explain the difference but since you have infinite depth equal to no, you should have some depth-induced breaking dissipation. That would reduce the high of your waves.

Regards

Hi Thierry,

I tried this option and once set to TRUE, it crash at first time step,

Here is the log file,
However, when set to NO, will run normally.

Can you send your full case so that i try to see why it crashed.

In your steering file it was set infinite depth = true which is obviously not the cas seeing your bathymetry, and you can't have bottom friction neither depth breaking if you have infinite depth.
I turned it to no and it is running, we'll see how it turns ...

well. at first I turned to NO at beginning and was running but compared to the observed data seems shifted only, but after you recommended, I turned true and then crashed. So, be make it clear, if I wanna turn to true, then have to set bottom friction and depth breaking to null?\\

My original setting to infinite depth was NO,

Do you think I have to try the TRUE one too and deactivate friction and depth breaking?

Obviously you do not have an infinite depth so you have to set it to no.
As for depth breaking set to 1 it works with the file you put on the google when infinite depth is set to no.
I got a result but i can not judge if it is close to the measure. here is the image of the result with depth breaking and bottom friction.

Here is one of the buoys data for that period!
You can see the x and y in the file name,
