TOMAWAC how to output the swell wave Hm0? 8 months 3 weeks ago #44266

May I ask if anyone knows how TOMAWAC outputs Hm0 for a swell wave like WAVEWATCH III. Currently, I have seen in the manual that TOMAWAC can output Hm0 for each grid point, but I have not seen how to output Hm0 for a swell wave. One effective way that I can think of at present is to output the two-dimensional spectral data of each grid point, and then develop my own wind and surge partition program for post-processing. However, this will bring a problem, as the amount of data is huge. So, is there a variable related to the surge Hm0 of each grid point in the data calculation domain? Or may I ask if there is a better way to solve this problem?

Similar to the parameters circled in red in ECMWF in the following figure.

Hello,

Unfortunately Tomawac does only output the global hm0, there is no decomposition in swell and wind wave like in WWIII. Thus, it is a project we have to do it and having it in next version.
So, yes the only way you have for the moment is to output the 2D spectral data and develop your own decomposition.

Sorry
