Hi

I know that a parameterisation of diffraction is included in v6p2 (scalar) but I can't find any documentation for it. Can someone please tell me what the key-word in the steering file is and what the options are?

Thanks

Fay

Hi Fay,

If you edit the dictionnary of tomawac in version 6.2 tomawacv6p2.dico in lib sub-directory and search for DIFFRACTION, or if you make a difference between the dictionnaries in versions 6.1 and 6.2, you should find what you want (and in particular, you will have the possible options).
I have the feeling that there are four keywords related to diffraction, but I let you check:
DIFFRACTION, STARTING TIME STEP FOR DIFFFRACTION (with 3 F?), VARIANCE THRESHOLD FOR DIFFRACTION, DIFFRACTION FILTER.

As I am not a Tomawac user nor developer, I will not be able to say more than what is written in tomawacv6p2.dico.

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan

Hello,

the updated documentation of Tomawac (v6p2), including a description of the diffraction module will be available soon in the TELEMAC website. In the meantime, I enclose here the paragraphs explaning how to use the diffraction module. Chi-Tuan already gave you the four keywords you can use but you will find in this document some more explanations.

Please be cautious with the use of this module. Here is an extract of the Tomawac V6p2 documentation : "A first version of a diffraction model is available in TOMAWAC and is able to represent some diffraction effects. The model presents still some limits. It is highly recommended to use phase-resolving models when a detailed simulation of diffraction effects is required (e.g. harbor agitation)."

Regards,

Elodie
