Good morning

I'm runnig a simulation in TOMAWAC, and internal coupling Tomawac - Telemac2d - Sysyphe. My question is does this models take into account submerged breakwater?

Thank you

Hello,

The application domain of TOMAWAC does not include the harbour areas :
- For the time being, the reflection (partial or total) from a structure or a pronounced depth irregularity is not addressed by the model, but it is one of our objectives to include it in a future version of Tomawac (probably V6p3).
- A first version of a diffraction model is available in TOMAWAC v6p2 and is able to represent some diffraction effects. The model still presents some limits. It is highly recommended to use phase-resolving models when a detailed simulation of diffraction effects is required (e.g. harbor agitation).

I hope this answers your question.

Elodie

Hi,

Thank you for your answear, i'll try to run the simulation on ARTEMIS, but how could i build a submerged breackwater (for coastal protection)on a mesh ?
should i enter it as shoal? or as 'contour' ?

Hi,

if your breakwater is always submerged, you should represent it as a modification of your bathymetry (as you said, as a shoal).
