Hi,

I make a simulation during two days with tomawac.
My results are very faulty.
For the variable Hm0, there is no variation during the simulation. I try to make a video on Fudaa but i have not variations in the time.

I have the same problem with the variable Dmoy:

The big problem comes with the speed and i obtain this results:

May be, it's a problem on my boundary conditions or in my steering file?
In this file, i put these parameters:

/
/
/ DISCRETISATION
/
/
DATE DE DEBUT DU CALCUL : 1104010300
NOMBRE DE PAS DE TEMPS = 8640

NOMBRE DE FREQUENCES = 25
FREQUENCE MINIMALE = 0.04
RAISON FREQUENTIELLE = 1.1
/NOMBRE DE SOUS-ITERATIONS POUR LES TERMES SOURCES = 1
TRANSFERTS NON LINEAIRES INTER-FREQUENCES = 1
/
/
/ OPTIONS DU CALCUL
/
/
DISSIPATION PAR FROTTEMENT SUR LE FOND = 1
/VALIDATION = NON
/
/
/ CONDITIONS INITIALES
/
/
TYPE DE SPECTRE DIRECTIONNEL INITIAL = 6
HAUTEUR SIGNIFICATIVE INITIALE = 1.5
FREQUENCE DE PIC INITIALE = 0.067
FACTEUR DE PIC INITIAL = 3.3
ETALEMENT DIRECTIONNEL 1 INITIAL = 2.
DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 INITIALE = 45.
FACTEUR DE PONDERATION POUR FRA INITIALE = 1.

/
/
/ CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES
/
/
TYPE DE SPECTRE DIRECTIONNEL AUX LIMITES = 6
HAUTEUR SIGNIFICATIVE AUX LIMITES = 1.5
FREQUENCE DE PIC AUX LIMITES = 0.067
FACTEUR DE PIC AUX LIMITES = 3.3
ETALEMENT DIRECTIONNEL 1 AUX LIMITES = 2.
DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 AUX LIMITES = 45.

Have you got any comments on my results or my steering files?

Thanks in advance
Regards

Hello,

I don't see the keyword "PRISE EN COMPTE DES TERMES SOURCES" in your steering file.

You can try to put a lower initial significant wave height (lower than your boundary wave height) to see how the waves propagate.

Elodie,

I put the keyword 'PRISE EN COMPTE DES TERMES SOURCES' in my steering file but it doesn't appear here.
I try your idea.
Just to be sure, The keyword 'Consideration of a wind is obligatory when i have a stationary wind?

My mesh is composed by two types of boundary. It's a rectangle. The north boundary is my coast and i define it with "2" in my boundary condition. The other boundaries are defined as free with "5" in my boundary file. In my simulation, the waves come from the south boundary.Must I define the west boundary and the east boundary as the coast line? with a "2" in my boundary file?

I read the manual but i would like to have more informations about the keyword 'BOUNDARY DIRECTIONAL SPREAD 1'. What is the goal of this keyword? Is it obligatory?

Thanks

Good afternoon

=> yes, and you should also put STATIONARY WIND=TRUE

The other boundaries are defined as free with "5" in my boundary file.

=> "5" correspond to an imposed spectrum.

Must I define the west boundary and the east boundary as the coast line? with a "2" in my boundary file?

=> Yes, it would be better.

=> yes this parameter is very important as it defines the directional spreading of the directional distribution of you spectrum at the boundaries (coefficient s of the model in cos^(2s) for example)
