Hi,

When i see my results of my different simulations, i have an error because i have some bad values for UV speed.
With fudaa i obtain this picture:

speederror.png

When i want to see my results with BK, a message says me that i have 1028 bad values
message_bluekenue.png

I show you my UV speed
spped_UV_vector.png

I try to modify my boundary conditions file but the error is always here. I try to modify the steering file but i don't find the explication of this error;

Have you got an idea about my error? It's a problem in my boundary conditions? In my steering file?

I put my steering file

Thanks in advance
Regards

I don't really understand your question : do you have any current file or stationnary current in this simulation? If not, why do you want to look at UX and UY?
Do you finally get reasonnable values for your waves parameters : Hm0, Tp...?

Elodie,

I thought that UV symbolized the surface current caused by the wind. It was a mistake.

My other parameters are not good.
- I have no values for FX and FY
- I have a lot of doubts on TM01 and TM02
- I have a variation in HMO but i have an error with the direction. Even if i change the direction in my steering file, the results are the same.
My waves direction is SO-NE but in my results, waves move in the opposite direction:

Hm0.gif

I put these parameters:

/ CONDITIONS INITIALES
/
/
TYPE DE SPECTRE DIRECTIONNEL INITIAL = 2
HAUTEUR SIGNIFICATIVE INITIALE = 0
FREQUENCE DE PIC INITIALE = 0.087
FACTEUR DE PIC INITIAL = 3.3
ETALEMENT DIRECTIONNEL 1 INITIAL = 2
DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 INITIALE = 45
FACTEUR DE PONDERATION POUR FRA INITIALE = 1.

/
/
/ CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES
/
/
TYPE DE SPECTRE DIRECTIONNEL AUX LIMITES = 2
HAUTEUR SIGNIFICATIVE AUX LIMITES = 1.5
FREQUENCE DE PIC AUX LIMITES = 0.087
FACTEUR DE PIC AUX LIMITES = 3.3
ETALEMENT DIRECTIONNEL 1 AUX LIMITES = 2
DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 AUX LIMITES = 45

I made a lot of tests and i don't find the solution

The bad values found message in Blue Kenue refers to the number of either "infinite" or "Not A Number" values found in your dataset.

Your simulation is blowing up and/or...

There is something very wrong with this Selafin file.

The timestamp displayed in the animation bar with all negative numbers for year, hour, min, etc. makes me suspicious.

Hello,

you should try first to do a simulation without any source terms (no wind, PRISE EN COMPTE DES TERMES SOURCES=NON)to see if the wave propagation from you boundary is ok, and then add the source terms.
The direction you are talking about here is the main direction of your boundary wave spectrum, but here waves are also generated by the wind. Moreover, the wind seems to blow to the North-West direction, is that normal?

I try to work without any source terms. On the results, i have no variations for the Hm0,TPD,TM01, TM02 etc... My wave propagation is not ok. However, i define the whitecapping dissipation , the breaking.

It's not normal that my wind blows to the North-West direction. It should come to the South-West direction.

If the wind blows to the South-West (it is not clear in your parameter file since you have VITESSE DU VENT SUIVANT Y = 2.5492), I don't understand what is your problem with the waves direction : waves are generated by the wind and then they go to the South-West.

I've not been able to read my wind file in my simulation. Also i make an average for the speed U,V.
When i put VITESSE DU VENT SUIVANT Y = 2.5492, this is my mean value of my wind during my period.

My problem is that my waves come to the North-West because my wind blows to the bad direction. How i can change my wind direction? If my wave propagation is the South-West to the North-East, what is the value for:
- DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 INITIALE
- DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 AUX LIMITES

I put 225°.

Thanks

- If your wind is now stationnary, I dont understand why the keyword VENT STATIONNAIRE = FALSE in your parameter file?

- Your wind direction is given by the values of the wind in the X and Y axis :
VITESSE DU VENT SUIVANT X = -0.5939
VITESSE DU VENT SUIVANT Y = 2.5492

- These keywords DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 INITIALE and DIRECTION PRINCIPALE 1 AUX LIMITES give the main direction of your wave spectrum at the begining of your simulation and at the boundaries where you imposed the spectrum (type of boundary condition=5). It has nothing to do with the wind direction!

- You must first solve your problem with the propagation only simulation before adding the source terms.

Elodie,

I resolve my problem with the propagation but when i add my source terms with the propagation, my variables like 'Hm0' don't vary
These keywords (CONSIDERATION OF PROPAGATION and CONSIDERATION OF SOURCE TERMS)can't be use together?
