I wanted to ask whether the diffraction formulation in v6p3r1 poses the same limitations discussed in this post: Diffraction v6p2

Hello,

yes these limitations still apply and I advise you to be very cautious with the results given by the diffraction module.

The only new feature of the version 6.3 concerning the diffraction module is that you now can choose the OPTION FOR SECOND DERIVATIVES (Default value : 1). The second derivatives in the formulas involved may be computed by the Freemesh method(option 1, accurate but expensive), or more simply with two successive derivatives in finite elements (option 2, fast but with some noise in the results).

OK, I will keep it in mind. Regarding the OPTION FOR SECOND DERIVATIVES, 2 is the only permissible option in parallel.

If I recall correctly, this option wasn't available in v6p2. What was the employed solution in v6p2?

Yes, option 2 is the only option available in parallel. In version 6.2, the diffraction module could only be used in sequential.
