We are using Tomawac to model wave height and direction near the Catalan coast. Since we wanted to visualize the results with GIS programs and draw the maps using the usual tools, I coded a python script that converts the SERAFIN format output to GeoTIF or any other raster format supported by the GDAL library.

Is somebody interesed in this? Is somebody using scripts to do similar things?
We are quite new using TOMAWAC, and the operational part is still giving lots of work.

Thank you for the tip.

I made the script since I needed to create the GIS files every 12h for all the domains we use.

... also -- yes of course, we could integrate your scripts to the rest of the system's python scripts if you do not mind.

I'd be happy to do that for you so it becomes available to the rest of the community ... Can you send us your source code ?

Thanks !
Sébastien.

Ok thanks!
I send the file as an attachment. I haven't put the licence so it can have the same as the rest of the scripts.

I've tested the script with our output files, but it would be nice to test it with more files so I can check the errors.

I've put the script that converts the file into a raster, since it's the most useful for me, but I made some tests creating vector files, altough the resulting files are huge. If there is some interest, I could create the command line script to give vector files too.
