Hi there!

It would be really helpful if someone could post an example of a cas-file and other files needed to simulate wind driven waves in Tomawac where the wind varies in time but is constant in space.

I have managed to simulate currents with the above mentioned wind in Telemac 2d and 3d but the routines seem different in Tomawac. (This is the first time I use Tomawac).

Charlotta

Hello Charlotta,

I assume you have Telemac-2d simulations running with winds that vary in time but constant in space. Make sure your Telemac-2d steering file saves the wind variables in the result file.

Then, assuming Tomawac simulations are on the same mesh as Telemac-2d result file that includes wind output, simply force the Tomawac run with the wind input of the Telemac-2d run.

You can do this with the following:

BINARY WINDS FILE = t2d_result_file_that_has_wind.res'
WINDS FILE FORMAT = 3
CONSIDERATION OF A WIND = YES

I hope it helps,

Pat

Thanks for the help! It worked well after adding the following keywords:
CONSIDERATION OF SOURCE TERMS =true
LINEAR WAVE GROWTH =1
WIND GENERATION = 3 /or some other generation formula

Best regards
Charlotta
