Thanks Costas a lot.

I am trying it now :)

Hi Costas,

I have followed your instruction, and run the coupling model with a time step of 15s, and 30s. However, the modelled results have not improved yet. Please see figures.

I just wonder why the modelled Hs is so high, and modelled Tp is low?

Dear Costas,

These are 2 files that I have simulated and posted the results. In these files, I have tried to test the model without keywords:

DISSIPATION BY STRONG CURRENT = 2

DISSIPATION COEFFICIENT FOR STRONG CURRENT = 0.65

SATURATION THRESHOLD FOR THE DISSIPATION = 1.75E-3

Best Regards
Huy

Try reducing the timesteps for both telemac and tomawac and add courant number in the results to check its (low) value during computation. Also check the friction factor for telemac. Its seems rather low for Manning although I am not an expert...

Dear Costas,

I am sure there is no problem with bottom Friction parameter as my TELEMAC 2D model was calibrated and validated with an agreement up to 90% with water levels, and up to 78% with current speeds (current directions are also well matched).

For the wave model, from the beginning I simulated TOMAWAC alone, and checked Hs,Tp at a offshore buoy (where the waves not affected by a current), modelled Hs Tp well matched with measurements.

I just got problem with the coupling model, but I have not figured out why? :(

Best Regards

Hello Huy,

I don't know the version you're using but in version V7P1r1, a bug has been corrected on the couple between telemac and tomawac.

You can find this version here :

I' ve never had a similar problem with tomawac-telemac coupling but then all my models have dt close to 1s. Maybe wave current interation requires lower timesteps than tomawac alone. If it is not bug related, as Thierry said, I would suggest you try lowering dt.

Costas
