open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi all!
I have installed TELEMAC on a private (no corporate firewalls or similar) computer with windows 10 enterprise. I have used the same systelconfig file as I did when installing it on win 7 (then it worked). I can run the telemac on a single core, but when I try to run it parallell I get an error message "unable to start the local smpd manager". If I write mpiexec -validate I get "SUCCESS" and I have allowed mpi to be let through windows firewall and I also tried to disable the firewall. Nothing works.

I'm attaching the error message as well as the config systel.cfg file. I hope someone can help me with this.

Hi Björn,

As the error suggests, you haven't initialized the smpd service properly.

Using the parallel cmd , type:

and check its validity using:
If I recall correctl the above should print something like: "smpd service running in [Name_of_your_pc]"

Also if you have some trouble with the mpi credentials, re-registering the current user with:

and re-running validate to check.

Thank you for the swift reply! However, I have tried those things as well, but I only get error messages saying that no connection was possible since the target computer actively denies it. I'm attaching a screen dump.

Any more good ideas how to make it work?

Dear Björn,

When prompted by an user and password, you could just type only the user and hit "enter" in the password (leaving it blank), try again validate in mpiexec, should print SUCCESS.

Forgot to mention, the smpd process should be done using admin. privileges when launching the cmd window.

Ah! The trick was to run the cmd as an admin. That did the trick. =)
