open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I new user for Telemach software. When trying (windows automatic installer ) to install Telemac software some error is coming. can anyone help me to fix that problem

Hi all,

I've had the same problem.

After following the instructions of the Step-by-Step installation guide, I got another error for step 2.7.1

cf. attached image

in english : "compileTELEMAC.py is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"


Any ideas of the reasons and/or solutions ?

I'm not sure to understand your suggestion.

Instead of writing 'compileTELEMAC.py", should I write "compiletelemac.py" ?
If so, it doesn't work better


I'm also wondering what's the meaning of the two first lines in the screen printing I previously did (lines about the 'setSYSTELCFG' which is not recognized either).


Would the simplest way be to uninstall and then reinstall telemac ?

I just suggest to write:
python compileTelemac.py because your computer doesn't recognize the file *.py as a python file.
About the other point, you just have a typing error. There is a space between set and SYSTELCFG

For the "set systelcfg" case, it's already written in the box when I open it.

I think, I'll try to reinstall it all over again...

Hello guys,

I am not sure what could be happening, however, try one of these things bellow:

1) Re-create the shortcut and verify its path is OK.
2) Verify python27 is installed into opentelemac-mascaret folder, if it is not there, you have to uninstall it and use the automatic installer to re-install it (only python27). Once the above mentioned is done, try again to execute the command "compileTELEMAC.py" as indicated in installation guide.
3) Redo the installation process step-by-step (I hope it won't be necessary).

Had already started to uninstall when I saw your answer...


I started the installation again.
No problem for step 1.
Went to step 2.


While doing it, I found a mistake I'd done during the first install : step 2.6.1., didn't put a space between the beginning of the location path line 1 and the continuation line 2 (to sum up : between "...set" and "SYSTELCFG..."), the same between lines 2 and 3.
This solved the case "setsystelcfg unknown".


Doing it all over again permitted to avoid the non-recognition of "compileTelemac.py".
It apparently only revealed an other error: even if it went a bit further, I'm still stuck at step 2.7.1. cf. attached file.


Promise, this time I won't do anything (uninstall or else...) before you answer !
