We downloaded the latest installer (see url below) and tried to install the TelemacPreRequisites-5.2-windows-installer.exe on Windows 10. We keep getting the attached error message.

As indicate in the error message, you encountered a problem with the installation of MPICH2.
You could try to install it manually from the folder installer and see if the error is much more described.
Maybe this could be linked to a problem of rights.

I followed the guide and then I got 'ifort.exe' is not recognized error when I am in step 2.7.1 of the document provided in the link. Please see attached screenshot.

Did you install gfortran?
This error message indicate you try to use a configuration which is done for Intel Fortran Compiler...
So change the configuration for a gfortran one or install intel compiler

After failing to install Telemac with the automatic installer, I tried installing Telemac as indicated in the installation guide (see link below).

By step 2.7.1 I have following error message: „C:\opentelemac-mascaret\v7p2r3>compileTELEMAC.py The command "compileTELEMAC.py" is either wrong written or could not be found. “

Additionally when using the shortcut, as shown in step 2.6.1 and followings, I get following error message before giving any command: „The command "setSYSTELCFG" is either wrong written or could not be found.

My machine is running windows 10 and is 32bit.

I suppose that the fact it’s not running on windows 7 but on windows 10 affects the installation, but I do not know how I should consider it. Should I change something in the systel file?

P.S: I checked the folder C:\opentelemac-mascaret\v7p2r3\scripts\python27 and the compileTELEMAC.py file is there.

Hi there is no association of the extension .py and python so your computer doesn't know how to run the program. You could try "python compileTelemac.py" instead.

According to you config file there is a problem as the selected config doesn't exist in the description part of the configuration.

Thanks for the fast answer!

I tried with the command „python compileTelemac.py" as you suggested. Unfortunately I received another error message: „The command "python" is either wrong written or could not be found. Which I do not understand because there were no error message during the installation of Python. I also checked the installed programs and the Python command line and it is working (see installed programs in the attached image).

Concerning the problem you pointed out in my config “the selected config doesn't exist in the description part of the configuration”: I modified the config file just as shown in the tutorial in the step 2.5.3. Where and how am I supposed to define the selected config? Should I replace “<srcName> “by “systel_v7p2r3.cfg”?

Inside the config file itself? Which part is the description part?

I am sorry if I ask something seemingly obvious, I never tried to install Telemac before and I have very basic knowledge of informatics.

I added the python path and the systelcfg path just as explained in the telemac wiki:

Taking into account the path in my computer:

C:\opentelemac-mascaret\v7p2r3\scripts\python27

C:\opentelemac-mascaret\v7p2r3\configs\systel.cis-winxp.cfg

Now, I have another error message concerning the .cfg file when I start “compileTELEMAC.py”:

Am I supposed to use one of the listed .cfg files? (The one I created: systel_v7p2r3.cfg?) I tried to copy a .cfg File and renamed it “systel.cis-winxp.cfg” but I got the same error message.

I think I am on the right path, but I still have exactly the same errors messages as before concerning python and the systelcfg.
