Telemac2d simulation not running - "error : too few arguments" 6 years 3 months ago #31127

I had been using telemac2d (v7p3) since 3 months and it had been running well. Even the parallel mode was working well. However my computer crashed some time ago and I lost the systel config file that I was using to run parallel mode.
Now I have reinstalled telemac (v7p3r1) with all the prerequisites properly installed and then manually downloaded the source code using TortoiseSVN. Also I have obtained a systel config file for parallel mode. Also, I have been able to compile the telemac source codes using the parallel mode.
However, whenever I try to tun any simulation (even the examples), I get the following error:

How do I rectify this error?

I am sorry if it is a very silly error, I did not find anything in the forums regarding this.
Note - I am also attaching the systel file for parallel used.

Hi
It's not a problem on Telemac configuration but a problem with your python installation.

I don't know where the problem is but you could by-pass it by enter the full command line which looks like:
python c:\[your path to telemac install]\scripts\python27\telemac2d.py Steering.cas

You're right it's a mystery!
I didn't find any rule to determine when it works or not.
My thought but never confirmed is : it depends on the python version you use. a basic python works but as some packages are missing for Telemac there is other problems. Canopy for example didn't work. There is problem with the interpreter which omit the arguments you entered...

If someone as the solution to solve this problem this could be great to share it here.

Christophe

The issue comes from the command associated with python.
You need to edit it with regedit.
You can have a look at the page below for the solution:

On all the previous occasions that I had installed telemac, I used pre-requisites installer to install all prerequisites, including mingw and python. And on all those occasions, telemac worked perfectly. This time, I installed python 2.7.x using Anaconda distro. This is the first time I have encountered this error.
Hence it must be the anaconda distro which causes this registry key problem. It is important to note that uninstalling Anaconda does not remove that registry key as that error remains even after removing Anaconda and using pre-requisites installer to install python.
The thing I have learnt is to only use the the automatic pre-requisite installer the first time itself.
