I used to use Telemac-2D v7p2r3, but now I install v8p2r1. The installation steps are the same as those of v7p2. The system_v8p2r1.cfg configuration file only changes the version name based on v7p2 configuration. There was an error in the interpretation.
"ImportError: No module named request". See the attachment for detailed information.

OpenTelemac has moved to python 3.

Try to make sure that tour command compile_telemac.py run with python3 and not python2.

I found that when the software was installed by "opentelemacmascaret-5.2-windows-installer", Python27 was still installed. But in "sources-scripts" folder it's Python 3.Does this mean I have to download and install Python 3 myself ?

Yes,

Since v8p2, python2 scripts are not provided anymore.
You will have to switch to python 3.

As there is no update of the automatic installer so far, you will have to install python 3 and some libraries by yourself.

Few month ago, I was reluctant with this as I had previous version of telemac already installed on my computer with python 2.
You can manage an environment to keep old version working with python 2 and newer versions with python 3.

So, you can install python 3 from https://www.python.org/
And after that, you will just need to install libraries as described in the wiki http://wiki.opentelemac.org/doku.php?id=installation_notes_2_beta

In this case, v8p2 installation is relatively cumbersome. On another computer, I've been using version v7p2r3. I'm thinking about updating it.In another post, I see you have also sent me a systel_v8p2_parallel.cfy file.I'm now ready to add parallel computing on top of the v7p2r3 version.Is the .cfg file you sent me still suitable(Except to change the version name)?

Sure enough, there was a mistake.

About v7p2r3 parallel configuration, I don't remember if I changed my cfg since v7p2. I guess yes.

We are not supposed to give assistance on old version of telemac so I can only support you to upgrade to V8p2 for your paralel computing.

It will help for this question and further.

I finally succeeded to compile v8p2r1 using Python 3.6.8. The compilation lasted few minutes. Is normal? To my mind, it takes longer...
Now, when I try to run an example, I have this error.

Even you're running only on 1 processor, the configuration you use is a parallel one and then you call mpiexec.
According to the error message, I suspect MPI crashing and then trying to print a message which is not well managed by python...
Try to run the full command manually in the temporary directory should help you to understand where the problem is
