Hi,

Been using MPICH2 for a while now with telemac, alongside other models such as SWAN and SWASH on windows 10. Although I realise that its no longer supported and that alternatives such as MS-MPI are available, MPICH2 has continued to the job just fine for me without any major issues.

The issue I am experiencing however is that I've setup a new PC connected to a company domain and although MPI simulations successfully launch they seem to take a very long time (5-10 minutes) to launch the individual processes on each core before the model actually begins running.

I'm really not sure why this is occuring - I've tried adding mpiexec.exe and smpd.exe to the list of exceptions in windows defender alongside the -host localhost command to no avail. Any ideas on how I may be able to get around this as it seems to be hanging on something.

Thanks,
Toby

For those that may run into this issue in the future I managed to resolve it by disabling all windows network adpaters (wifi, vpn etc.) except the main ethernet controller connected to the LAN.
