After trying, I found that I can successfully run without the parallelisation. Is the problem of MPI?

First time trying to use the automatic installation for windows. Have always compiled manually however it's become more complex as of late with all the dependencies. The installer is a great initiative and should make it far easier for new users to get started.

I noticed that the installer creates its own standalone python installation in the external dependencies folder. However, it seems that the python dependencies such as numpy are not included with Telemac throwing an error for missing python packages.

Noting I already have python 3.1 installed on all machines running Telemac I decided it was easier to just change the path to my existing installation of python in the configs/pysource.bat file.

I also noticed that the installer comes with only a single precompiled build for MPI. I realise most people are not using scalar compilations these days however, I've found that sometimes when debugging the scalar build gives more detailed error messages which are not often revaled with the MPI compilation. Would it be possible to include a config for scalar inside the systelcfg file even it its not prebuilt please?

Thanks for all the hard work the team has put into this - the community is really what makes Telemac such a great tool.

I have installed V8P4 using the automatic installation program, but I have some questions:
1) I tried to run V8P4 using an example(telemac2d\breach) in the working directory, but an error [WinError 5] occurred, as shown in the figure. However, when I copied the example to the desktop directory, it worked. Are there any problems with the installation? Do these affect the use of V8P4?
2) How to configure the parallel computing in V8P4?

According to my experience, the path of working directory should not have blank space, so your working directory with "program files" and "working directory" may cause problems.

Hi,

Write in C: is often protected and requires admin privileges. Try to open terminal as admin and retry.
It seems the issue as copy/paste this example in your user directory fix it.

For parallel computing, Windows installer should have set up everything correctly. Addto your command.
You can also define the correct keyword in .cas file.
2 is just an example, you can adapt depending on your hardware.
