I finally managed to sort out all my troubles with the MPICH2 on my laptop. The problem was that Intel Fortran comes bundled with its own set of smpd and mpiexec . Not knowing for this, I installed new version of MPICH2 and linked TELEMAC against it. Since the versions of DLLs are different, this must have been the cause of my troubles. I corrected the tool-chain options and now it works like a charm.

Problem is that mpiexec was in my path but also are the ones shipped with Intel Fortran. Important notice for future users and/or novices: check whether your version of Intel Fortran comes bundled with its own mpiexec or not.

Chris, once again thank your for the exhaustive tutorial on preparing the parallel version of TELEMAC.

Dear Budo,

I am having the same issue as you did, i.e. I have two instances of smpd.exe, mpiexec.exe and corresponding .dll files (MPICH2 and Intel-MPI bundled with Intel Fortran). I have a problem running even the cpi.exe test case on my computer and I want to make sure that there is no conflict between the two instances.

How exactly did you resolve the conflict and which MPI version did you kept?

I have eliminated the Intel entries in the PATH Environmental Variable and disabled the Intel smpd service. The conflict is resolved and I have successfully run the malpasset case in mpi. Please ignore the previous post.
