We'd like to use gfortran instead of ifort to save on the prohibitive costs involved in using ifort.

The problem I face, even after changing the compiler switches to reflect the equivalent gfortran switches, is that the .mod files have been produced by ifort.

I'm unsure as to the licensing of Telemac, and was therefore wondering if I may potentially compile Telemac from source using gfortran.

Or is this just impossible?

Dear Jacob

For the moment, it's impossible for you to compile Telemac with gfortran. In july when you will have a full access to all the sources, you will try to do such compilation.
On windows, it's not easy to compile telemac with free compiler because they often require a linux emulator like cygwin or msys.
And in the telemac use, the compilation step could be called at each run if you add your own fortrna file.
We hoep to find a full free solution in a near future.

Christophe
