Hello everyone,

In telemac3D, when creating the 3D mesh based on 2D mesh and water depth, the algorithm copies the base mesh over the NPLANs and as a result for those nodes where H is zero the volume of the element is zero as well. How the Telemac3D elimates those elements ( mask) them from calculation especially in solving linear system? Also when we are coupling with sisyphe, we also have crushed elements with zero volume. I know there is a filter in VC13PP for crushed elements.

When creating the initial 3D, then after each time step the mesh is updating, so using the sigma transf, the location of the points ( only vertically) change, so how we consider this change?

Kind Regards,

AMANJ

Hello,

In Telemac-3D, except with the option that masks dry elements (OPTION FOR THE TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS = 2) the elements with volume=0 are kept in the mesh, and when it raises a problem this problem is treated locally, depending on the local algorithm.

When updating the depth the elevations of points in the mesh are modified, it is done in subroutine calcot.f, then all subsequent changes are done, like the new volumes of elements.

I hope it answers your questions,

With best regards,
