Hi,

For a pollutant dispersion study, I would like to simulate the dispersion of a buoyant tracer.

We already have the hydrodynamics (U/V velocity along the water column and density) and would like to keep it simple. So we would re-use these hydrodynamics.

Is there a way to simulate the dispersion of a buoyant tracer with fixed hydrodynamics? That would require advection/diffusion + and additional term for the sinking of the tracer (or reconstruct a vertical velocity based on the density difference?).

Is that something possible in the Telemac framework?

Hi

This is probably possible but this need some changes in the source code to replace the hydrodynamic computation by a read of already available results.
This is probably easier to run again the simulation with the tracer...

Christophe

OK, thanks. I will also have a look at DELWAQ as an alternative as I do not want to setup the hydro (which was provided to us).
