What force drives particles(drogue)? Is it the average flow velocity or the surface flow velocity?

Hello,

As you can see in the ASCII DROGUES FILE (t3d_particles.dat) of the $HOMETEL/examples/telemac3d/particles example, the particles can move over the vertical. The answer is 3D velocity.
