Hi Alan,

Sorry that I confused you! What I try to do is not to get the overall cell size statistics but to get the cell size of each node in a mesh. This is to say the method of extracting the 2D edge length mesh is already a good solution.

My last question was just to see if we could extract cell volume or edge length directly from a 3D mesh so that we don't have to multiply the 2D edge length with the vertical height to get the cell volume. But if not, the extracted 2D edge length mesh is good enough for me!

Thanks a lot,
Jason

Hi Chi-Tuan,

Thanks so much for your answers! I'll try using USER_PRERES_TELEMAC3D to save cell volume info.

To your comment about LES, could you clarify what you meant by I'm not doing LES with the Smagorinsky model (HORIZONTAL TURBULENCE MODEL = 4 and VERTICAL TURBULENCE MODEL = 4)? What are the things I'm missing...?

Thank you,
Jason

Hello,

You model RANS rather than LES when you run TELEMAC-3D.
