Hi,

I'm trying to set up a rectangular channel with k-epsilon model and with its turbulence characteristics matching another higher fidelity model I have. I tried to match their decay of turbulent kinetic energy by simply imposing K and EPS profiles at the inlet boundary, as well as setting the initial conditions using the profiles (FYI: flat, rough bed at the bottom and Nikuradse formula was used). But it is not enough in the TELEMAC channel to sustain the turbulence kinetic energy towards the end of the channel.

Is there a way to set up minimum turbulence intensity/K/EPS in the channel? Or what is the best way to do it?

Hello Ray,

You can try to play with KMIN and EMIN which should set minimum values for k and epsilon or omega in $HOMETEL/sources/telemac3d/cstkeps.f subroutine where some constants or options for k-epsilon or k-omega turbulence model can be changed.

Hope this helps,
