Hello,
After modeling with Telemac-3D using the k-epsilon turbulence model, and when calibrate it, I find that the modeled tidal elevations are not so good as those in 2D models. The 3D tidal elevations usually have some oscillations and this happens frequently inside the estuary. So I wonder if this is normal or I've done something wrong...
Thanks for any hints.

Hello,
No, you should have similar results if you have equivalent numerical options (time step, implicitations, horizontal diffusion, etc.). However the Thompson theory is 2D and we use it in 3D as well. Users reported better results in 3D for tidal computations.

Hi,
Thanks very much for your reply. I think my problem was caused by the turbulence model and friction coefficient that I used. I will try further analysis.
with best regards.
